Taking away more from the people – IRFAAN

“Take for example the level of taxation which plays an important role in the decline of private consumption. Since 2015, total tax revenue is expected to increase in 2019 by more than $98.7B or 55 per cent. Of this total VAT represents $17.7B or 18 per cent. Indeed, the increase is worrisome since total output or GDP has increased by a mere 9 per cent or $35 Billion. What this means is that the government have been taking away more from the people than what is actually being produced”
