Vote recount timeline recalculation

The announcement by the CEO of GECOM must be a mathematical error.
It sounds as though it’s approximately 12 votes a minute by 1 person to do the entire job of the recount of Regional and General Elections within a 10-hour workday over the course of 156 days.
Surely something can be done in parallel with additional resources.

Just by increasing the number of people involved in the recount to 156 using a 10-hour workday (allowing for a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks) the entire recount may be completed in one day at approximately 12 votes recounted per minute.
Maybe it’s an issue of mislabelling in their mathematics calculation.

Please note that these are estimates based on assuming that Region 4’s numbers are in question.
If GECOM allows for a 2-day recount with these resources, they will have time to focus on the questionable votes raised during the recount. They should also consider the number of resources which they would like to utilize based on what is manageable.

Given what was accomplished during the elections, a two-day recount expectation is not unreasonable, and the suggestion of the PSC to focus on the pending SOP ballot boxes is logical. However, it was surprising to see so many regional totals differ from their corresponding general totals, with the exception of District 8.
The team and voters in District 8 appear to have been very consistent in their voting in both the General and Regional Elections. Congratulations to all those involved.

The recount process will require the continual help of all the hard-working teams from March 2, 2020.
