The silence of “good” people

The silence of “good” people

Dear Editor,
Apologetic: One of my core tenets of behaviour is respect – not to disrespect anyone or anything in the natural world. When I say or write something, it is with a deep sense of contemplation…
Signed: Justice Claudette Singh SC, CCH
Impressive. To whom? For whom?

This individual’s behaviour and action appear to be deliberate. Is it out of fear? Is she taking orders? If so, GECOM’s autonomy is jeopardised and nullified. Justice Claudette Singh SC, CCH, walks and speaks like a zombie. She has lost her voice and credibility, SC, CCH, notwithstanding. What an ignominious fall and tainted legacy! Sad. History will not be kind to her.

I deliberately omitted the names of Lowenfield and Mingo. They are not worth my time. Allegedly, they are political hacks and scoundrels, doing the bidding of their Leviathan master.
Moving on. Let’s dismiss the AFC for now. They are like whores and harlots, dancing and frolicking, lecherous, parading, and seeking honour. They have overspent their sojourn in the parlour of sin and depravity.

Moving on. The WPA, the party that once gave hope to the nation. Walter Rodney died (?), and the WPA died contemporaneously. The WPA is now a pretend paper party. My friend and colleague Josh Ramsammy once told me that the WPA has lost its way and has regressed into an African-oriented group. I did not understand him then, but now realise what he meant.

To contextualise. Has any individual who claims affinity to the WPA commented on the disgraceful fiasco regarding GECOM’s ignominy? Except David Hinds confounding himself! What about Rupert Roopnaraine, Joycelyn Dow, Tacuma Ogunseye? The great economist Clive Thomas? Others like Morris Odle. In the diaspora: Eusi Kwayana, Rohit Kanhai, Moses Bhagwan, Wazir Mohamed and others. Where are their voices? Muted? Muzzled? By what?
Their silence speaks volumes.

Lest we forget, listen to the enduring and admonishing words of Martin Luther King, Jr: “History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamour of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.”

Whither thou goest: when honourable people prostitute their honour.
“This is a dark time, my love….”
