Justice Ramlall: Then and now

Dear Editor,
I am sure that President Granger has talents that are superior to those of Merlin the magician. When President Granger was involved in his “fit and proper” search for a Chairman of GECOM, Justice William Ramlall had been proposed, among others, for consideration for appointment as the Chairman of GECOM. After due consideration, the President had, with one sweep of his brush, tarred Justice William Ramlall — and all others referred for his consideration by Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo — as being not “fit and proper”.

Recently, the newspapers carried a mind-boggling announcement from the Ministry of the Presidency. It emerged from stars and bubbles. President Granger had waved his wand, and Justice William Ramlall had been cleansed and thereby became by Presidential magical wonder a “fit and proper” person, and was rendered indisputably eligible to be appointed Chairman of the Police Complaints Authority.
President Granger is apparently one of the persons with a divine charge to perform miracles.

Sincerely,
Selwyn Persaud
