GCE O’ Levels are more reliable than CXC

After much thought and consideration in regards to the CXC fiasco faced by our education system this year, we must as a nation consider a better alternative. It is very difficult to accept our schools suffering another such a set-back in the future and our top students having to continue with such a process that is starting to lack in credibility and reliability.

In the past, the GCE O’ Levels were the standard-bearers of excellence and these exams continue to be that sought after standard-bearer today for many other nations.
A shift to the British system of education upon which our great nation was founded is an excellent solution to prevent any future uncertainty caused by the use of the Caribbean’s attempt at a replacement for GCE O’ Levels.
GCE exams are a little more encompassing and do set a higher standard that is recognized globally by higher education organizations.
The Ministry of Education should seriously consider a move in this direction and reinforce the British Form system in our schools.
