PYO pays tribute to Balram Khandai on 18th death anniversary

Members of the Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) branch of the Progressive Youth Organisation (PYO), on Wednesday, paid tribute to their colleague, Balram Khandai who was shot and killed on his way home after attending a Peoples Progressive Party (PPP) Congress in Berbice in 2002.

The members laid wreaths at the Memorial Site in Lima Sands on the Essequibo Coast.
Khandia, 18-years-old at the time, was driving along the Rose Hall Public Road when armed criminals opened fired at his vehicle, fatally wounding him.

The PYO member was an observer at the PPP’s 27th Congress in Port Mourant, Berbice in 2002.
