Just some of the undergraduate scholarships being offered
THE Department of Public Service within the Office of the Presidency is offering 18 bachelor’s degree scholarships and two at the master’s levels at the University of Guyana (UG) for the 2020/2021 academic year, and Guyanese are urged to apply.
Application for the scholarships closes on September 11, 2020. The bachelor’s degree programmes are available for agriculture, accountancy, chemistry, civil engineering (with environmental engineering), communication studies, computer science, dentistry, economics, electrical engineering, finance, general psychology, land administration and management, mechanical engineering, human medicine, nursing, petroleum and geological engineering, public management and supply chain management.
To apply, interested citizens must first register on the Department of Public Service’s website as a prospective scholar. They must then upload their application and all necessary supporting documents such as letters of recommendation and copies of their ID, passport or birth certificate.
Meanwhile, the scholarships available at the master’s degree level are available in environmental management and urban and regional planning. Key eligibility requirements must see applicants possessing a bachelor’s degree within the last five years with a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 and admission to UG for the required programme.
The applicants must also be 40 years or under, have a valid Guyana Passport and be in good health to complete the programme successfully. To apply, they must also register and submit an online application.
